So I'm hearing thats there going to be a new 70cc Echo does anyone know anything? Getting tired of all this flapping coming from the Stihl and husky fans boys.

I hope it’s based off the 590/600/620 chassis. Would probably swap the jug on my 590 yo space my saws out a little more.

Whats the bore and stroke on the 590? And a 70cc saw that size would be killer!

Honestly not sure I’ll look it up in a little bit. If the 501 weighs less than dollars 420 then who knows maybe it can happen lol

Maybe this is weird, but I think the 55-65 cc Echo saws have an odd look to them with that bulging air cleaner cover and visible gap under it. It looks ungainly to me, like a big fake hood scoop.

Yeah I like that they made the air filter a pretty good size but wish they didn’t make where it joins to the carb hard plastic. I add an o ring to help with debris but seems like they didn’t quite finish the thought all the way through.

They should have stuck with the design still used on the 370, 400, 450, 500, 680, and 800. Looks cleaner and less flimsy, still plenty of room for a big air filter.

Echo seems to have gotten out of the horizontal cylinder saws in the 80's. Was there a specific reason for this? Alot of folks say that a vertical cylinder does a better job of keeping exhaust and noise away from you.

Crap, seller on Fleabay has the 500P new for $255.60 + $25.95 shipping. I don't need it but damn I want it. I could sell a couple of saws that I don't want as much to make up for it. What say you? Should I pull the trigger?

Why not go for it thats cheaper than a 490 at HD. Plus it has a BLADE!
