Just picked up an Echo QV-8000 from the Echo dealer that the F.D. is done screwing with. Compression feels good and its not in too bad a shape. Gonna find a 36" bar and chain for it to have a "big saw" handy for when we're dragging stuff home for my buddies Wood-Mizer.

Anybody have experience with these? It seems well made, heavy etc. The dealer said the oiler "oils too much"
Im gonna dig into it this week hopefully and figure out what is needed to make it a normal saw.

What is the bar mount called for this size Echo? I am finding bars but I just want to know what the designation is for this mount. It has a .404" setup on it now and the sprocket is shot, gotta find a 3/8" sprocket for it as well.

Any help is appreciated

I had a D176 36" on this one with full skip.
When I sold the saw to a JD collector, I traded the bar to a echo collector for his saw.

I'm going to run Stihl bars on my CS670 for a beam cutter. Quiet and user friendly imo. Too much oil is a good thing. They have a huge range of adjustment so no worries. The big plus is the thumb pump oiler is also on these saws not that you would ever need it. CS670 is factory rated for a 27" bar with some odd drive link size, no thanks. The Stihl oil hole lines up fine on my saw. Easy swap. The smaller adjustment pin on the Echo should be dealt with gently while adjusting the bar imo.

Is it really 9.5 or 9 as I have never measured. But Oregon site says 9mm

If you got your info from Acres site. You have a 50/50 chance of it being wrong.
That sites info in iffy.

Well chit. Now to me that just makes the whole small mount, large mount even goofier with the smaller spread in bar stud diameter.

I had a 2171 I bought from a local that had a brand new 8.2mm 24" K095 bar on the bar studs. I removed the b+c after alittle fight and then. Sold the set.
I just laughed to myself and told the local the story later. He said local dealer had sold the b+c to past owner for saw. SMH

I still get that today. Had a 3500 come in with D176 bar on it.

This bar.
Still have it. Not much use for D176 here.
Have a row of used bars just hanging.
