Well for this that have used both the 562xp and the 6100... I am of the opinion that the 6100 is superior in the clutch cover department because it clears better when noodling.
PS-550 clutch cover is wider than the 6100 cover, should clear chips even better?! ;)

What I was looking for was chip path (yellow) and width (blue) to see if they were the same or different. Just because the clutch cover is wider doesn’t mean noodles will clear better... however the height and width (blue) seem to be about the same. I do like the 6100 anti-crush sleeves since they are wider but don’t think wider is necessary either.

As nice as the entire inner rash plate is on the 6100... you’d think they would have put on an outer rash guard of some sort and I would take an extra 2oz to have a rear rubber guard in the back of the clutch cover for extra case/tank protection (IE 7900 style). For those that noodle though... you can cut out that back 1/3 of your clutch cover for extra clearance. If you are ordering a 5600 clutch cover for dual bucking spikes you’d have the 6100 original to cut up for specific noodling purposes... of course I am not suggesting you expose the chain and cause a safety issue... So does this mean the 550/EA5600 is going to be discontinued?
Why would You think that? o_O

Err , I meant YES, all parts are unavailable as of today!

Tell me about it!
So many great things over the pond and shipping kills all the fun getting any of them.

I have no Dolmar dealer anywhere near me, my closest Makita dealer is 3 hours away - I get everything from Germany.
You have dealers a couple clicks away, Steve, Nate, Andrew (and others?).
You also have us Europeans willing to help out, Andrew, Dan, me (and others?).
It shouldn't be a problem acquiring a cover+spike set if You want one. :)

The orange arrow....you know...so you can run your cover inside out. :D

Never noodled with a 6100. But a 5100 rarely plugs at all. Could be the lesser/slower amount of chips, too
