Also just mentioning here. Make sure the bar rail is totally clean and free from wood debris. I clean my bar rails regularly. Just use the Oregon hook thingy. Clears the thick gunked up wood debris right out of the rail. Helps oiling much better. And also the oiler output hole is clean too..
Just throwing this out there.

I agree, but I checked oiling with the bar off.

Try thinning out the bar oil with mixed fuel. Sometimes that will dissolve gunk that has gotten into the pump or feeder tube. I have fixed a dozen saws that refused to oil the bar by using this trick.
Done that to a few 550’s. The guys don’t clean the caps before fill up.

Then we wouldn't be environmentally friendly.
Lol! I think gas pored on them is taking it a bit far but each to there own. I use a brush, rag or even just simply use your finger to wipe off the dust. Takes a few seconds of your time, but some just don’t care.

I use my old tooth brushes as well.

Yep and with some creative use of heat they can be modified to suit:

Plus regular dawn dish soap at 2 teaspoons to a gallon makes a gooder light degreaser. Biodegradable too for the tree hugging hippies.

I never even thought of bending it. It seems to fit for what I use it for. I will bend one and try it. [emoji106]

I bought one of these for as friend and all it needed was a new clutch bearing. He uses it with an Alaskan Saw Mill to mill cut long logs normally with a 32" bar. Then he builds furniture with the slabs:

Is there a trick to getting this thing apart? I’m trying the clutch removal tool and going reverse direction on the threads but no dice.

So you have it spinning clockwise with an impact?

I use a quarter inch drive plug in Porter Cable driver on my stuff.

I was using a big ratchet and yes, clockwise, but it seems to spin freely.

Impact that bish!
Or get a clean rope down the spark plug hole to work as a piston stop. Might take a few trys to get ir right. But I like using them vs a screw in stop.
