I now have a hot redhead thanks to Andrew. Contact me Andrew, @ajschainsaws, I owe you money. The Mike Gott, @MG2186, muffler ads a little pizzazz too.

That 79 is one *b-wordin sword. If I decide I dont like the 572 that's what I'll get!
The older ones were light for the power too, a mm will take care of some of the added weight on the 7910.

And with the 572 with large dogs and large clutch cover.

The Dolmar PS-7900 is a saw that Stihl & Husqvarna wish they came up with two decades ago. ;)
Two decades later they are still playing catchup praising their products to be market leading.

Whatever, I'll just keep enjoying my mature 2003. Dolmar PS-7900. - 6.2HP/6.3kg.

Such a shame Makita is dropping the ball though. :(

Are they really so light?
I know that the specs are 6,3 kg, but on all picture on a scale they are heavier

Are any of those pictures of an European unit with only the small inner EU style spike and without the AV travel limiter? ;)

I'll have to check mine, though she surely gained some weight packing on oily saw dust.

I admit that the PS-7910 can not meet the 6.3kg, too many steel added since the 2000. units were first released.

I believe they achieve that weight without the outer dog and clutch cover. This is the weight that got with that configuration, although it has the AV limiter. This gets the saw pretty darn close to the 462, which basically doesn't have a clutch cover lol.

Other than the mounts being a touché weak (make sure your running the limiter on the cylinder spring, it helps a lot) and the oiler being kind of stingy (easy to fix with increasing the pump stroke a little) there pretty much bullet proof. I love mine and I’m jealous of the smurf, the color has grown on me. I like the blue and black, looks cool. Just don’t like the tan covers, kind of ugly ish. Lol
