There used to be a plant near me in Troy, PA that bought ash logs from the mill across the road, bucked them to length, and cored the rounds for bat blanks. They would then kiln try them and ship to Louisville Slugger for turning on the lathes.

The plant workers all bought OWB, and burned the remains of the blanks for heat, since it was all ash, and cut to a correct length for OWB use.

View attachment 171598 These things are not easy to drill through . I was determined to use the 3 point spikes instead of buying the ones on the new saws. I ended up making a pilot hole with a carbide burr and followed up with the right size drill bits. Should be better than the crappy metal catcher.
You were right about those spikes being HARD! I just kept sharpening the bit until I was done. Bought all the parts at the hardware store, total cost under $3. Going to do the rest of the Dolkita so I’m buying a solid carbide drill bit, $14. I used a e-clip to secure the roller, the bolt just extends thru the inner spike for strength.

How much is it?

I think I remember a price of 690 on it, but don't quote me on that. And, even so, this is Greece--only fools pay full retail. :D

I'll give the fella a call and see what price he can let it go for cash. I know him well enough to make a good deal on it.

Don't talk him down too much or I may end up like @Wilhelm with 64, 73, and 79 cc variants, only in smurf blue... must resist the temptation.

What's not to like about triplets? :)

Trifecta...:headbang:
Triplets count as one with triple the fun - and I have four of them! :D

I recently almost got a PS-7910, opportunity passed by as I have other plans with expanding my flock.
