So what's the preferred carb on the upgraded 6421/7910's? I heard about some carb mods from @Poleman. Mine is a Zama that is below.

The early ones are C3M DM11, which are the twin jets. Most desirable for the Poleman mods.

The 12A/B and 18 are the later carbs. All of my Dollies are early models, so I got nothing else...:Saeufer:

Well @Poleman said I had a good one! I opened her up and sure enough I have the twin jets!

I couldn't sleep last night so I got up and cleaned the carb, modded and painted the muffler, updated oil line and timing advance on my Smurf. I think black covers will really look nice!

The switch is one of those that springs back to the “on” position after it kills the saw. Now I don’t have to think about it. Not a big deal but it was the only feature I liked on my t540.
Glad I’m not the only person that has drowned a smurf because intelligence level was too low to turn the switch back to run after killing it.

The bad part of that drowning issue is when you bust the saw out and really brag up how great the Makita is to someone that’s never seen one. 10 minutes later and it still hasn’t started and they’ve walked away holding their stomach because it hurts from laughing.
