7901 with and without filter. I fought tuning for a while before I puked the filter just to see if it made a difference.

Cut Times are nearly the same?
So what is wrong with the HD?

My unofficial timing shows 1 to 1 1/2 seconds faster. It was holding more rpms in the cut I believe.

I compared the HD with filter set up and the stock set up with the flocked filter when I got the saw back, same log, same chain and was seeing 1 1/2 seconds faster cut times. Rpms again where higher in the cut but I don’t recall what since this was a few years ago.

Too restrictive for what you gain in filtration. If you’re going to spend money on a port job and then cut 1/3 of the power back out what’s the point?

Sooo, utilize a nylon mesh filter and forget the port job?

I wouldn’t forget the port job but I’d not choke it down with the Hd setup after wards.

It’s probly not near as noticeable on a stock saw. Ported saws use more air I’d bet

I did run a Ported Dolkita saw! I gots witnesses. AND it was very nice and very fast.
Twas a MMWS 6100.
