It cant be that much to ship it, that is nuts.

Sle drop ships so its makita charging that price. Get it sent to some one in the lower 48 and then flat rate it up there.

Do not get the big bore kit.

Yeah. $100 shipping is crazy. I had a whole saw shipped up here for half that price. I could probably have it shipped to my mom's or sister's down in Az.
Is the bbk really a POS? My plan either way 79/84 is to do some mild porting myself, delete base gasket depending on squish. Planning on milling some spruce with it. Trees are in the 24" and less range.

The 7900 kit will beat the big bore kit stock from what I see and hear. I wouldnt waste my time with it.

Either kit will port up, but the oem kit will always out perform the big bore.

Bb will beat a stock 64, but not a 79xx

Best bet is to save up for an oem kit

What if I fill the intake with jb weld, paint it Husqvarna orange and mix the oil 32:1 and slap on a Stihl es bar? Then will out run a79xx Smurf? :coleman:

It's not so much the saving the money.....it's fighting the urge to be a cheap b-word(fatherless child) and spending money.

What’s a 100 bucks over ten years the saw will last you? Some am parts are ok but moving parts in the motor spinning at 13k I’d lean towards oem or meteor if possible.

Went to purchase this kit today....$96 shipping to Alaska! Dang it! Guess they don't use USPS flat rate boxes(or doesn't fit). Looks like I might be going with the HL supply NWT bbk kit and a caber ring. Maybe? Hell idk. Anyone use the NWT bbk kit?
Dang and I was pissed that shipping was $20 for me. [emoji50]

People like the knockoff kits to experiment with porting or mods so they don’t fudge up a oem cylinder learning. That’s a different story.

Lol, doubtful. Takes a lot of work to a bb kit to compete with a 79xx

Jb weld doesnt make it any faster. Devcon does [emoji16]

Hell, have it shipped to me if you want. I’ll forward it to you. A large flat rate box is only $20.
It’s definitely worth it going oem.

That is a very kind offer... I'm also of Norwegian decent, partially (grandmas maiden name was Aberg).
Very cool! I’m from the old motherland. Moved over here 14 years ago now.
Aberg sounds like it’s from the west coast. I could be wrong, though. Lol

I’d rather see you getting the part you really want, than having you always second guess it.
