Tried to fire pouring some mix in the intake.
No spark. Had spark before.
Couldn’t find any visible defects in the wires, pulled the flywheel again, and that’s all the time I have right now.

Disconnect the kill switch. Had them go bad esp if you checked all the wires already

Tried that, not it.
Kill switch has continuity to saw chassis with switch off, none with switch on.
Wire has continuity end to end, none to chassis.
I may have to leave that wire off the coil, reassemble and test to rule it out.
Also tried a different plug.

I’m open to advice and discussion, I’m no expert.
As it sits it’s at .040” squish, 105.5 exhaust, 122 transfers and 130 intake duration.
Base gasket will be deleted to net around .020” squish and I will raise the exhaust to 103ish, if my blowdown ends up around 20, I’ll probably leave the transfers alone. I’d like to be around 150 degrees intake duration.
Timing was advanced a smidge Upon assembly.
All of this is subject to change.

Perhaps @Redfin may share what he did?
After machining the jug landed at 103/123/75. I took it to 99/120/81. I try to keep the int and ex as equal in duration as possible. I have 162* on both. I didnt want to mess with the transfers to much. They have a very, very nice shape from factory.

When I fired it previously I did not check if it was oiling. Welp its not. I put it up for now until I can dig into the oiler. :(

Back at it today, no spark.
Tried everything I can think of.
Leaning toward bad coil at this point.
There appears to be a Chinese ignition coil that may work....
Or...
There’s a 143 crankcase on eBay that has flywheel (assuming ignition as well) and brake parts for $100.
Damn this is getting expensive.

Got a NOS air filter for $20 on eBay.

Flywheel is off again, waiting for that Chinese coil, hope it fits.

I’m pacing, getting restless.

Best of luck on the coil. So far, I'm 50/50. Ms361- runs like new.
394xp- not so much

That 143 has a SEM coil so you need to swap the flywheel also.
Thank you, I wasn’t sure which system it had but planned on transplanting everything if it was the SEM.

good looking project... maybe this will kick me into gear to get my 143's together...

Also don't forget many parts from the 309/343 cut off saws are the same (same chassis in concrete saw form). They came with a canister style AF... I can't remember whether that allowed for K&N conical or just for the OE canister. I have a multitude of 309/343/123/133/143 saws that I plan to do rebuilds into 143's... this gives me more info in advance of my builds. Thanks for that guys!

Anyone looked at 143 top ends and their port numbers?

Seems like I found one non-governed carb in my giant mess of these saws... I may try to rebuild one of the governed carbs and see how it works on a smaller dolmar...
