A cheap puller from the auto parts store works. Flip the plate over so the flat side is up. Leave the nut on the crankshaft flush with the end. The only set back is you need to buy long bolts with the right thread size. You'll also want a better set of thick high grade washers. Screenshot_20180203-100315.jpg

How about installation?
Clean and degrease then set with a hammer and pipe or long socket?

I’m out now, going to pick up a harmonic balancer puller and improvise.

Pulled the clutch and flywheel with the puller @Chainsaw Jim recommended. Little bit of creativity and a couple love taps.
I’m once again surprised at how clean this saw is. To this point I haven’t cleaned anything.
I try not to break em loose with the puller alone. I use penetrating lube before applying some torque to it, followed by a light tap with a hammer. Usually the slightest tap makes it pop. If it don't pop with a light tap I'll load a little more torque on the puller and tap again. The older large Jonsereds sure can let go with a big boom, and the clutches can injure a person when they come loose.

That’s exactly as it happened, PB blaster and all. Tension and a few little taps, just for vibration.

Then this little bugger put up a fight. Modified a cheapo battery terminal puller and got the job done.2D98E762-CD09-4111-B0E6-E1B51E139060.jpeg
