We have our selves a 1997 Dixon 5502 ZTR.

Short story. Mother in law live at an apartment complex for 20+ years. Now works there as maintenance. They had this mower sitting around for a number of years and was going to throw it. She took it. Its sat for about 2 years before I got it.

I've gone threw it thoroughly for the past 4 months. Got it up and running. Replaced the ignition and deck engage switches. Now that it runs. Deck engage instakills the engine. Before I start tearing into things. I'm looking for advice for what it could be. Or I direction to look. The only thing that's sketchy thus far is I had to bypass the seat sensors to get it to start and move.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Still sounds like a safely switch somewhere, I don’t know the specific mower unfortunately

The switches may need to be replaced not just bypassed, they might need a certain amount of resistance. Also needs a good batt attached for an elec pto, it can’t just be jumped

I was thinking that for a solenoid somewhere along the line.

The battery is brand new 3 weeks ago. It's fine. Any other ideas?
