Very nice. Assuming that is accurate, it is surprising that it was not more widely sold.

Looks Canadian due to the English and French? I rooted around on Google to try and find it, but was not successful.

Me neither.

can you recommend a saddle type gauge with multiple depths?

No. There have been some through the years (e.g.’FileMate’), but I only see cheap copies now, and I don’t knew how accurate they are.

Basic depth gauges are pretty simple and inexpensive. Less likely to make mistakes.

i wasnt able to get a good measure off of the guage itself. i will have to use it on its different settings and measure the chain

I imagine that accuracy / precision might vary between different gauges: a slight movement of the dial could change several thousandths. But once set, it should provide consistent depth gauge heights, as long as it does not slip.

Neat tool.

seems like not super accurate though
‘Accuracy’ is sometimes overrated!

I would take ‘consistency’ over accuracy, in this application, and maybe adjust the reference / index with a piece of tape, label maker, scratch awl, etc.

Totally agree. I did not test consistency, but I will. I also have to adjust it because .025” is more like my min raker height, not max.
