Saw is working, seems to run really great, finally! I'm still not quite sure I'm setting the H screw correctly, so I've it out a bit over 2 turns right now. I'm not 100% sure on the tune-by-ear four-stroking thing, but at 1 1/2 turns it felt a little weak in the cut. I opened it up 1/4 turn and it ran better, then I went another 1/4 and it seemed about the same. Considering that I just put another $100 into the new closed-port cylinder, I don't want to melt the piston on this one! I might take it to a local guy just to get the H set by someone with more experience than me.

I learned a lot on this, and thanks to everyone who provided input on the saw. I probably won't try one of these again because of that impulse-tube setup, and I suppose it explains why there are so many 51's on Ebay in the "not running or for parts" section.
