Custom or genuine Stihl?

There's an ad up on my local Craiglist with this..



It's clear that it is a sticker over the top of the tag. I'm just wondering if it was done by stihl or a regular print shop.

I've seen this discussed a few times and I "think" a certain shop or shops did some very basic porting and applied the stickers
I am 91.89% sure they are not original oem badging.

That's a normal MAGII tag. The one I saw said super magnum same as the OP's 044

The sticker makes the saw and tells no lie. lol Guess I'll toss my MMWS since they are obviously not marked "Super Magnum". What next, Super Duper Magnum ? Maybe they can be the first to claim cloud based saws, the exhaust does indeed exit as a cloud.

i've never seen any evidence in either direction on this, the sticker/overlay looks "wrong" when compared to other labelling from the time period and in all the tech documentation I have scoured I have not seen a single mention of it
there are not many cases of Stihl dealer installed options that I have seen any credible proof of - the 10 cube 090 cylinder comes to mind and not much else

056 Mag2 and 038 Mag2 are documented real OEM versions
all of the super magnums appear to be dealer made concoctions
