Folks, stuff ain't worken out for me. I had a trade ready to go, that 044, and it is leaning out now..carb issues...air leak.. I was trading it for a complete 66 red light. Ok anyways I already had a like new crank big bearing version poly flywheel. Also I has 2 poly short case halves from 2 different saws. Well put them together and guess what? The cylinder base is uneven between the halves. Can one side which would be the pro side be machined down to match? I can't seem to find a set of good cases anywhere for poly flywheel

You could have it machined, I’d want the case haves bolted together

Try what I mentioned above. Even matched cases don't go back together perfectly flush every time. Sometimes, but not always

I'd machine the case down while bolted together, maybe go a little past that just to be sure. If you decide to go a different route I'm pretty sure I have an early 066 crank I could spare.
