I just ordered a cordless Dewalt compact 20v sawzall to replace my old corded model. I also thought this thing might be ok for some minor tree chores from time to time. Can't say I've ever cut any green wood with a sawzall, but the cordless makes it a possibility.

Sawzalls are great. But... I don't think you're going to like it much on trees. You'd be better served with a cordless or corded chainsaw, imo.

I picked up a Worx pole saw that comes in handy for small trimming jobs, and pole can be removed for use as a regular chainsaw.

10" bar, I think I paid $60 or $70 for it.

With blades like these...

My 20v dewalt works fine with smaller limbs. I've used it a lot.

One of the members here gave his 65 year old mom one of these saws with a tree blade and she really took to it, cutting up a major brush pile in a few hours. She had a blast and got one for herself.

I tried the Porter Cable pruning blade and it works pretty good. Bought as fast as them Dolmar's.

My biggest complaint with the cordless sawzalls is that the batteries run down really quick. Don't plan on doing a lot of work with one.

My buddy who frames houses has a Dewalt sawzall and he has to have 5 batteries to keep it going during the day if he has to use it much. Plus many more for the drills, etc.
