Morning folks.
Anyone here have experience converting a standard lightning to an S?
I have several standards, and two spare S cylinders and pistons(dont bother with the PM's,not for sale) and i'm wondering if its as simple as swapping over the P&C?
The heat shields wont match, but it may be possible, would like to hear from those who've done it.
I imagine its similar to converting an 070 to an 090

As I think I mentioned to you, I have a Contra S, and I also have few Contra 66 mm jugs and pistons. I'm going to use one S top end on my Contra G and the other will go on one of my "regular" Contra's to convert it to an S.

I've rebuilt regular Contra's before but never converted a regular Contra to an S. But I think it's just as easy as installing the jug and piston. If you look at a Contra IPL, you should only see a few differences between the Contra and Contra S. The connecting rods and cranks are the same, and the case should be the same, too.

I'm going to do this myself at some point, but we're getting ready to move back to the states. It won't happen before then.
