I got a riding mower for at the bush to get wood from my pile to the truck and trailer. Mabe 30 yards. Well it needs a battery and being the cheap bugger i am was wondering what would be involved in converting to pull start. It only get used a little in the spring and in the fall.

It could esily be set up by bolting a pull rope cup to the flywheel, and just wrapping a pull rope on it to start it.

If you jump start it of a car or truck make sure they are not running.

Id like to avoid the jump start way. The mower would be left in the bush so would have to push it out to the truck.

I seen a vid on youtube of someone using a water pump pully. Take flywheel nut off. Atatch pully. Cut a angled notch. Wrap cord around and pull.
What you guys thinknof that?

If I'm thinking right I'd want as big of pully AZ I could get.

How big is this motor? Could a recoil off a 10 hp Briggs work?

Yeah, the notch in the bolted on pulley works fine, just make sure the nut is torqued back on enough....

Just bolt on a starter cup, and wrap the rope around the cup.

I wonder if a cordless impact gun could spin it?
Tried the drill this am. No go. Rolls over once then drill shuts down.
Think i will probly just break down and get a battery when they are on sale.

How many cranking amps. The battery in it seems a little small at 130ca.
Its a 17.5 briggs.

130 is awfully small. Seems like 200-300 is the norm nowadays. If you only use it a few times a year, how about just connect the cables with wingnuts and take the battery with you when you are done using it?
