Coil lead For Stihl 026

Anyone know the wire size for this lead off hand?

My sudden fuel issues on my latest 024/6 were actually an ignition wire the was hanging by a thread.

I'd like to pick some lead wire up on the was home.

I would start at a NAPA, bring yer old one and see if they can match ya one up. Its just insulated wire after all.
Al, pick up an extra coil connector and a spare plug boot while you are where ever you can get stuff on "Lawn Guyland"
never know when you gonna need one.

My local NAPA had 10g and 12g "primary wire" . I picked up some 10g just because I wanted to have some and see if it works. ($8.00 for 10ft)
any electrical engineers bored enough to tell me why it wouldn't ?
its stiffer then the regular Stihl wire if that matters any

Just went out to the parts room (the barn) and found two complete coil and wire harness for the 026

I ordered some from the dealer. I don't believe it was that expensive. They sold it in a 1 meter length (canada eh??). Has lasted me a bit. I could be wrong but I believe it was 5mm in diameter.

Most of the stihl saws I've played with have had what looked to be 5mm wire. I don't know if you would be able to find this at Napa. They might be able to order you some. idk. Most stock cars and trucks use 7mm
