Chip deflectors

So i have seen some bigger saws that have the longer chip deflectors and thought it would be cool. So ordered some which i thouhgt were longer but were not. When i popped off my chain cover i pulled the deflector off and seen that its just mounted with two pins. So do you just move the deflector to the lower pin or is ther a special longer one?

Deflectors just fill your boots up with chips anyway, and catch noodles. I pulled mine out of my 2188 and haven't looked back. (My opinion might change if I was actually falling timber, instead of just being a firewood hack)

I just like the look of them. I dont use that saw anyhow. Just for display. I know. What a wait eh.

Deflectors are nice for bucket work or climbing. Often they shoot chips away from your face, depending on which way the wind is blowing. I noticed a difference when a clutch cover lost its deflector.

You can get the bigger deflector for the 044, 046, and bigger. Depends on your saw as the form of it is different than the one your showing. In theory you could probably buy one and cut it to fit.
