this spring I bought some dead chinese chainsaws for a few bucks just to find out how they work and if there are quality differences between the "models" (all are Komatsu Zenoah G4500 / G5200 clones from different brands).
two weeks, some puzzling and cursing later:
After testing I kept three of them, one went to my father in law and the rest back to eBay.
Very interesting to mee: altough they all were described as totally defective none of them had a real "deadly" malfunction. Just little things like leaky gas tube, broken chain adjuster or burned brake (because of broken chain adjuster). Mostly they just didn't start because of a dirty carb.
Now after this repair action I think I can help myself if my saw makes any kind of problems.
