Chain shortening help mid Michigan area

I have a few loops of 3/8 .050 72dl I need shortened to 70dl. They are all stihl chain. My local shop wants 10 per link removed and I refuse to pay that. I have 5-7 chains I need shortened. Anyone local to the Owosso area that would be willing to do it cheaper?

I have shortened several of my own chains with just a grinder,strap and hammer. I’d never do one for the public but I’ve never had a problem with mine.

Thanks. I might just try my small vice and a punch after seeing that. I'll use a garbage chain first in case I rash it

I just grind off the heads of the straps that I want to remove, and wiggle. They fall right off.

@EvilRoySlade is in Midland. He may be able to help. He's the closest member that I know of. He has a new breaker and spinner

That I do and would be happy to. I only have Oregon chain parts so I can’t assemble yours without Stihl stuff I would think. I also have square 3/8 .050 I could spin for you. I have a grinder to keep them staying sharp too if needed.
