Blueberry is for class one, it still retains it's stock carb, coil and such. Just a woods ported saw, nothin fancy. Then Gary will have him a good work saw after all the playing is over with.

Did have his share of trouble, went to change the leaky oil line and the work gear drive was fried. New one came with a new pump so in it went as well.

Cylinder machining went good and turned a fine finish.

Still have shards in my hand from port matching the muffkin.
Saw must be three pounds lighter without all the stuff packed inside it.

Was fairly easy to work on with tools from other brands.

A winter filter was picked in favor of the summer one with a hole in it. European bucking spikes were installed instead of the humongous stock ones. A bar bushing to allow Stihl brand bars is installed. All to make it a more usable saw.

Refreshed the carb and fuel filter and fiddled around a little while I was in there to make sure everything is right and tight.
These saws out of rental fleets need to be gone over well to be a serviceable saw again. They got rid of it for a reason...

The new cylinder you said was a 7910 right? ....and you used the muffler with a cat from the 6421 ? Did you do some work on the new 7910 SLR cylinder exhaust port that would have a SLR muffler fitted on a 7910 from factory .

Gutted the muffkin like a fish and added two outlets.
Ported the 7910 cylinder exhaust port and matched the 6410 muffkin, gasket and heat shield to the port job.

I’m guessing this is why I should have answered my phone last night? Damn “family time”...

Looks great Steve, I would say “ can’t wait” but I know I am going too. This saw will hopefully make the rounds of some GTG’s as a sample of the fine work Steve does and to give anyone a chance to run a Makita saw if they haven’t.

I’m hoping that by the time it gets to me later this fall it has at least 10 or 20 tanks on it and is well broken in.
