I checked out the Menard's tool boxes and thought they were nice for the money. Seem to be on sale often also. You can never have enough toolboxes, better than having stuff shoved all over the garage.

I have three of the 36 inch Menards/Masterforce boxes . They are a decent box. Here is the 30" chest http://www.menards.com/main/tools-h...451676332-c-9188.htm?tid=-6318763056833744885

Here it is at the farm store https://www.orschelnfarmhome.com/view/product/si-5-drawer-tool-chest-30-in/si6278258

They used to mess up every once in awhile and put the older 36" version top and bottoms on sale at the same time they ran a 11% off and that made them very reasonable

I will say I am looking at the HF bottom cabinets and look to be buying 2-3 of them together in the other shop

Craigslist is your friend. Lots of techs have gotten out of the business and unload tool truck brand boxes for cheap. The old friction slide Snappy, Mac, and Matco boxes are extremely well made and can be purchased for less than new Craftsman. I have a small Mac roll around I got for $100.00. It is probably from the 1980's and is stout, you can really tell the difference comparing it to the Craftsman chest that sits on top of it.

Nice looking boxes guys. I have my stuff hanging or on a shelf. After seeing a couple people cleaned out in minutes by thieves I like my stuff scattered so its harder to grab.

I have an old Snap-on lower and a KRA upper. The upper cab is likely 20years old and the lower is closer to 30 years old. Both are mechanically in great shape still although they have been beat around a lot over the years. I'm a heavy duty in a big shop and my box has a lot of miles on it with probably literally a ton of tooling in it. My dealer has honoured lifetime warranty on anything that has given me any grief at all. That's why you buy quality is for the warranty and dependability. 30 years is good for any tool.

Agreed 100%. My big box is a Cornwell branded Kennedy and I've been quite happy with it.

I bought my box new in 89 i think ,am sure i will get 20 more years out of it ,it could use a couple bearing slides replaced ,may just be dirt in them making them drag some though.

Not budget my any means but it's what I got! Little overkill for at home but I wrenched for 15 years and then changed professions and got this before I hung it up. Had a Mac Maximizer for 14 of my 15 years as a technician. Lol. Now this is my home rig! Love this box!!!
