Trying to use a puller on a Homelite XL12 flywheel so I can remove it . What size bolt is it. I Measure it a 7/32 of a inch. I can not find and bolt long enough of this. What is everyone else using. I tried tap on crankshaft with NO luck. Got to use a puller . I removed the studs and tried 1/4 bolt too big. I am missing something.

According to the IPL 5/16-24
Are you looking into the nut holding on the flywheel or the holes in the flywheel to help push it up?
Homelite liked 10-32 & 8-32

the two holes that each have the paws for the starter. I got some jaws under the flywheel . The flywheel is really stuck. .I have tried heating it up and now I got kroil on it. This flywheel will not come off.

Gently tap the flywheel opposite the key downwards and tap the side of the flywheel to help loosen it.
I had the same problem with my McCulloch Super 44a.

The pawl stud holes in the rotor are 12-24.

The flywheel will NOT come off using jaws on the side of thereto. Ordered some 12x24 bolts and will try it that way. I can't believe I have not warped the flywheel.

Yes.

And, get a couple #12-24 x 2” long screws from the hardware store. Use a harmonic balancer/steering wheel puller from your local Craftsman dealer.
