What works the best and what doesn't?
Years ago i had excellent results with the dry grey granules that come in about a 2 inch tube, don't remember brand. Recent years nothing seems to be near as good that i have tried including black pepper.
Any favorites out there that are fairly consistent?

Water glass (AKA egg preserver) sodium silicate. Not a permanent fix but a stop gap

new radiator. You don't want that stuff in your cooling system unless they are willing to pay for a head gasket job when it vows the stop leak out and overheats the cooling system. Its only a bandaid on a gash is how I see it.

I've been using the brown Bar's Leaks pellets for years with good success. Never had anything get clogged up. They were factory installed by GM for years.

I used to work for GM as a heavy line tech. I do remember using the pellets but that was for issues with casting if I can remember correctly. I just like fixing it right the first time.

When I worked at a private garage, we put them in any vehicle that got Dex-Cool.

Not a fan of Dex-cool.
GMs Plastic intakes also don,t make me feel good.
.

Bars leaks will get you home then you can locate the leak at your leisure.

Yep, I hate that Dex-Cool crap. Causes really crusty deposits in cooling systems.

My buddy always did the egg and pepper combo. Said he was cooking breakfast with that old ford 360.

On Georgias' 2002 GMC Envoy the dex cool did a number on the radiator .$1200 dollars later when the putz I hired could not figure it out I did gravity test and figured it out in about 5 minutes.$200 dollars later with a new radiator it works just fine .I've given up on so called mechanics ,might as well do it myself .These people can't be that stupid .
To the subject, black pepper will do in a pinch but like any half-fast fix is not permanent .BTW all "silver seal is is ground grain with silver flecks of something .Maybe the fixens for moon shine mash for all I know

I used those Bars Leaks pellets when I was a young cuss. Now I'd just pull the darn thing and have it repaired right.
