I need a right angle hand piece, bad. What is the best bang for the buck out there (single handpiece and/or full kit). Feel free to post your hand piece, motor, pedal, etc. I am just curious as to what you guys are using, and how happy you are with it. I know some guys use a straight shaft with a cut off wheel or stone, but I dont like doing uppers this way and I feel is too time consuming.

If you want a good rotary fex shaft motor that 'IMO' is a better unit than the foredoms (1\2hp instead of 1\4hp) thats made in the USA that is fully serviceable, check out the Mastercarver 1\2hp <30K rpm units either hanging or bench mount. They have all the bells and whistles that a foredom does, and perhaps a few more.

My CC right angle was great until I used a cut off wheel to remove a baffle . Those tiny gears stripped out after about 30 seconds, Lesson learned , $122 for repairs plus shipping. Otherwise CC porting kit for small 2 strokes has been great.

A cheap right angle isn't worth the money no matter the cost. I used a cutoff wheel for years on stihls and done just as good of a job. I still use a cut off wheel to flatten the roof.

I asked them to warranty it , but they wouldn't. Despite the high price, I think the right angle tool is made in china

Certainly you can do it on the cheap, mount a flex shaft to you varialble speed die grinder etc, but if you want good pleasure to use porting tools....you gotta pay up. CC's R/H 182mc?? is pretty darn fine, I like new when it comes to things spinning 20k+ but good stuff is fully serviveable and able to be rebuilt. Also if you buy the right kit, down the road it will be desirable to sell if your silly enough to do so. Burrs and stuff are where you can save money cause they can cost some $$ too but there's a heap of suppliers fighting for your business.

I can relate, no different than other tools, most saws, and good guns.

Thanks everyone here that replied with your .02, I appreciate it and am all ears.

Buy cheap, buy twice on the right angle tools, unfortunately.

Just the way it goes, once again.

You gotta pay to play.
thats the way it is with everything, you get what you pay for.
Neewbie like me would probleby not need CC quality though.

I will follow this thread close, I may need to buy one angled hand piece this spring....my porting will just be jugs 42-50mm
