I worked on an old back pack stihl blower...think it was a 400....can't remember....Super easy to work on and that sucker ran Sweet when it was done. I like the Stihls myself, but they're expensive anymore. I think it really boils down to personal preference.

I've got the 580 husky and wouldn't go any other way. Can move small wood and rocks around with that thing. Only way to go

I've got an echo 770. Live in the woods, ALOT of leaves in fall, and it works real good for me. The best part is I bought it at auction for $100. Didn't have to do a dam thing to get it running. It moves everything I pointed it at;small rocks, deck chairs, flower pots, dogs water dish full of water, you get what I mean. Use a little echo for the garage and walkway. Alot of factors can go into choosing a blower. My pockets aint deep but I'm real happy with my echo!!! +1

My 580bts is what I use the most. I actually use more in the winter to clear my driveway and walkways from snow than in the fall.

I have an old BR 400 because it is dead reliable and I bought it cheap. But the most powerful blower on the market and the one I recommend to all my customers is the RedMax EBZ8500 RH/LH / Husqvarna 580 BTS/BFS. Same blower just different paint although I do like the Husqvarna straps better.

I have an old husqvarna BT135 and I am now drooling over a 580. That video really says it all. The next piece of orange that comes home with me isn't going to be a saw, it's going to be one of those blowers.

580bts for sure. Have used the Stihl br600 and the 580bts wins hands down. That thing hates a damn leaf.

I have the Husky 580 BTS and it's heavy but it's the most comfortable backpack blower I've ever ran due to the strap and harness system. Even my 10 year old boy and my 5'1" better half have no better have have no problems running it. I highly recommend it to anyone.

I timed the second tank of gas out of my blower at 1h 39min. It was probably at full throttle 80% of the time while I was checking the fuel economy. Since it's broken in now, I think that it gets a little better fuel economy and it's a bit stronger too.

Maybe irrelevant for the amount of hours a homeowner will run one, but for commercial use and this extended life look how many more moving parts the 4-strokes have. The Br600 is a solid machine but way more things to fail including a plastic cam. Given the choice of a simple powerful 2-stroke, why? Especially since the 4-mix still requires mix fuel.... Just dumb IMHO. Husky 570 or 580 or Redmax 75xx or 85xx series for the win. Powerful, simple, reliable.
