Curious as to what piston replacment everyone is using on the later 357xp. (15mm needle bearing) Oem jug, modestly ported.
Oem pistons are looking pricey. I'm seeing pop ups made by hyway and lilredbarn but I'm a skeptic.. I also read to steer clear of the hyway flattop replacment piston somewhere around here.. Does that leave me with the meteor, or is shopping around for an Oem the common practice for the 357?20170606_211821.jpg 20170604_171918.jpg

I've been using the popup pistons in the 350's with good results, have one for 357, but haven't got it in yet.

I usually use Meteor for my rebuilds and have found them very good and consistent quality- Caber rings they come with might take a little longer to break in but a long lasting dependable saw is what i'm after, also have used Hyway and must admit they do look good but haven had much experience with them - OEM is great if I want to pay 3 times as much.

Meteor is good stuff. And that is the strange thing about Husqvarna they wanna charge you $90 for a piston then have the whole top end kit for $120. It's almost like they wanna kill off the AM market.

I feel your frustration... like they're trying to kill profit margins for those who flip and rebuild saws..

Meteor and reuse the OEM circlips if possible.
