I recently got this bar and it has a slight curve in it. Is there any way I can straighten it out because word on the street is it’s a good bar. Also, can anyone tell me what kind of bar it is and what it fits?

For a gentle bend, one's that have no distinct location of the bend, I usually bridge a couple of 4x4's on the floor with the bent section and step on it. It takes a fair bit of force to bend them and I usually end up pulling around the table of which the vise is affixed to before getting the bend out. Using your weight is really easy to control the amount of bending.

Check it with a straight edge first. I've looked down bars that appeared to look curved liked that but once checked were actually straight. Looks like a husky mount D009 to me.

If you could measure the width of the bar slot and the width of the tail end of the bar near the oil delivery holes some of us vintage saw collectors may be able to give you more info on what the bar fits. That would be a very easy straightening job as there are no sharp bends in it, supported on blocks about 4" in from each end, a few bounces of body weight and check for improvement, may take 3 -4 tries but it will straighten out just fine.

I have a vintage Stridsberg bar, too. It'll fit my Jonsereds, but it's not an exact fit. Pretty sure it's original to a Husqvarna MS90.

However, I think your bar may be a Jonsereds bar. Sending you a PM.

Here's mine.

They all don't straighten easily. I have a windsor 28" large husq mount that had a slight bend that resisted straightening even over bending it in a large hyd press. It eventually sucumbed with a carefull dose of the "red wrench".
