Im going to try a base gasket delete on my 261cm.... wondering if its going to mess with the m-tronic system and also what some other guys may use for a seal or gasket material?

Mtronic will be fine. Need to have .018-020" minimum clearance from piston crown the squish band. Motoseal, loctite 518, permatex 51813 are some of the sealers I've used.

The 550 came out at 165, I don't know what it was before, I didn't have the proper gauge fitting before.
Of course this means nothing as you have a different saw.

I thought about this thread when I was looking at my notes of another saw tonight. 261 type two I last did was .02" no gasket.

I did the machine work on a new 261 Friday. They are looser now than they were during the first run.

I took .030" out of the squish, and has to take .050" off the base to set the clearance to .020".
