If you are looking for an eco friendly bar oil, I like the stihl bio oil. I guess motion lotion makes a biodegradable version also.

I use Stihl bar oil normally but I will use Husqvarna in a pinch. Of course I run the appropriate seasonal blend. I used to use whatever bar oil was on sale in my cheap saws but having graduated to the $1000 plus saws I figure they are worth using the premium stuff. Bars and chains are getting expensive too. I have had some of the cheap bar oil that was extremely thick and heavy at 90 degrees the there was no way it would pour in the winter. In the end it is personal preference.

I buy the cheapest I can find. Usually Poulan or County Line when it's on sale.

I use mostly whatever is on sale......if it get to thick in the winter i just add a little diesel fuel to thin it down.
I do use some winter oil if it get really cold out but it a little pricey for my blood.

I've been using this stuff. Get it at a local autozone, it's around $8 per gallon, sometimes I've seen it on sale for less. It's pretty tacky. I got sick of paying $17/18 a gallon for stihl bar oil. I really like it.

I've tried some of the cheaper bar oils, and didn't care for them.

I just use the Tractor Supply bar oil. I buy it when it goes on sale. $6 a gallon I think.
Works well.

Bar oil is one thing I don't like spending money on, bars and chains don't last long enough for me to care no matter what brand of oil I use, so to me the cost saving in using a cheap non fling oil and getting maybe 10% less out of my bars is worthwhile.

I buy mine from northern Arb supplies by the drum, I can claim the VAT back but it works out about £5.50 a Gallon when all said and done
