I'm curious. With Stihl's yellow and green indicators on its bars.

#1. What is the difference between the low kickback and high kickback bars.

#2. Are the bars and chains interchangeable? I'm assuming they are. Just looking for confirmation mostly and any other information you can give me.

Thank you.

Yellow guide bar:
big sprocket at the tip. Straight parallel shaped. Perfect choice for felling

Green guide bar:
Smaller sprocket at the tip. Slightly steep i.e. not parallel shaped.
Good choice for delimbing.

saws with high torque may demand the bigger sprocket

You can run the same chain on both, if the length is matching.

Thanks for the info. I picked up a green bar. And after reading that. I wonder if my 99cc saw shouldn't have the yellow one instead? What's your thoughts?

I'll add a newbie question on...

My MS250 bar will not fit my MS362 or MS261C.

Which bar is D025?
The "homeowner" bar or the pro saw bar?

D025 is the Stihl 3003 mount, fits 024 to 066. The MS250 is the 3005 "Mini mount" fits most of the smaller saws.
