Has anyone been in the position to compare the internals
of an AT and an MT saw with for example 2000 hours on each,
that would be 25 hours a week for 84 weeks.

Just curious if one system gives a cleaner top end than the other.
Probably not many will be using two similar saws doing similar
tasks with the same fuel, but am curious none the less.

I will have to wait for the.glass cylinder to come on the market. I don't work at two strokes so just curious to know what one looks like after a couple years steady going.

Too many variables. The design of the saw will have more effect, plus things like manufacturing variances fuel/oil, filters, chain setup and so on and so on.

As suggested, it’s more likely to be effected on a model by model basis than the actual auto tune vs M-tronic scenario, with the ultimate outcome being the result of quality design and materials.

While the systems have different mechanisms for achieving the correct air/fuel ratio, the results should be very similar.

Still I am curious as well, someone that sees many saws across their bench might have noticed a trend.

Hi @Sawrain
Agreed, it’s only a curiosity I have as I have not inside many saws, I figure
if I know what these engines look like with various hours on them I would
know the health of my own saws and take preventative measures.

Thanks @andyshine, there certainly are a lot of variables,
Posted on the million to one chance someone would have used both systems,
in similar situations using the same mix, not much of a chance really.

Well I’ve got a ms241 that’s 5 years old, a 550 I bought the month they came out and a 562 whenever they came out I believe in 2011. They all 3 have been ran and abused in my tree service. I actually pulled the mufflers on them and they look brand new looking at the pistons and cylinders lol...
