Well my poor old girl is starting to show her age. My 2011 sierra is starting to get some rust on the rear wheel well. Just wanting some advise. You can see small spots coming through most the way around. I have basic knoledge of repairing this and looking for some advice.
Should the whole iner lip be taken down to bare metal? ( i know i got to get rid of the rust or it will come back)
Is ther a treatment for the bare metal if i do take it down to the bare metal?
Will most likely be dealing with napa for pain and stuff. Closest color match place to me.

Any help please. I hate seeing this the truck. Both rear wheel wells are like this.

Just run it until the cancer takes the bed off and put a flat bed on it.. Only thing about GM I can complain about is they rust no way around it. wouldn't trade Chevy for anything

Ya its too bad. Its like the paint just looses its bont to the metal in spots and starts lifting. Im guessing the salt and sand from winter takes the paint off inside sharp edge and starts ther.

Oh i would like to keep the box on long as possible lol.

I'd put some rust neutralizing paint on it then make it a two tone with bed liner on the bottom.

Of course I'm just a hack.

I was hopein to get 10 years befor any signs of rust like that. Kinda disapointed but other than that they build a good truck.
I dont even drive backroads much and if i do it is 20 kms an hour or less.
This is part of the reason I got rid of my 08 Silverado.

It’s said to see the trucks from 07-13/14 with more rust than sold older gm trucks. You pay way more and they are built way cheaper. And I don’t feel any of them are any better then the next brand. I thought that as technology improved so would a vehicle but it seems to have gone backwards

Cant sell new trucks if the other ones are lasting 25-30 years.

Sure you can. Called marketing. I know many people who upgrade every few years because they want to or need to for business reasons. People will still buy new vehicles
