Good size pipe, but picking up a heavy load you will need it. You putting a flange on the bottom piece for a pivot load surface?

I was thinking of cutting the small tube in half. Cut the square tubeing for the boom. Weld a foot on each end of square where i cut. Then weld the big tube down on the smaller one wagon side. Weld The smaller one on top and will slide in and be able to pivot. This sounds better in my head then on paper lok.

What are talking about with a flange?

Sounds like me and my son inlaw was talking about doing to his so he could swing it around to the bed of the truck, his mounts into his trailer hitch. Flange I'm talking about would be a round flat metal welded on the bottom half at the top so the top part would sit on top of it, and would pivot on top of it without binding, a little grease between the two would help making it easier to swing around.

I nevernpaid much attention to the winch on the wagon. Its a 3000 pound champion.
Now im debating on switching it for the warn thats on my atv. I appsolutly hate that pos winch. The reviews on line look really good for the champion winch.

Supposed you switch it out between the two, and suppose you are winching a good load into or out the trailer and it quits half way up. See where I'm going.

Not sure if i will ever use it for pulling logs but maybe just bigger blocks. I have been kicking the idea of small outriggers. I think i will be fine for bucked up blocks. If i ever try some logs will need outrigger for sure.

I would would like to make side rails for it so i do have the option to move some shorter firewood logs.
