Armistice Sunday Veterans Day

Tomorrow is always a humbling day for me when so many brave men and women lost there’s lives
In the fight for freedom and this year being the centenary of the ending of WW1

The U.K. and the commonwealth countries always call it armistice day or Remembrance Sunday
And in the US you call it Veterans Day

Over the years I have been to the four corners of mainland Europe hauling freight
And seeing all the war cemeteries in France and Belgium on my travels it was unbelievable
So humbling Our family has two ancestors buried in France

Would Like to hear everyone’s views about tomorrow

Those men were a hard bunch living and dying in the trenches.

My father served in peace time, gramps was in WW2 and Great Grandfather fought in the Boer War and Great War. I was raised to have the utmost respect for the sacrifices our elders have made.

Maternal Grandfather killed when Mother was new,





Çcvvvcccçborn, he never saw her. I'm named after him. Dad took Mom to visit his grave in Luxembourg before she passed away. KIA leaving young bride and baby sucks. Cancer sucks.

Been to our local church today Memorial Day they’ve gone too town
And decorated it beautifully for local fallen soldiers

theres a new movie based on book all quiet on the western front, just watched it a couple days ago. the things people piss and moan about these days seem pretty trivial in comparison.

Thanks for the post. I've worked with Brits in Iraq and Afghanistan and think very highly of your troops. I'd trust a Brit to cover my ass any day. That church is pretty cool, by the way!

Yes very true a hardship nowadays is if you can’t charge your phone or IPad

Like yourself and the stories from the Middle East about the A10
Got me so fascinated about that plane

All the work in that small church was done by ladies who where from
Families who lost members in the Great War
