Here is my 288 that I had Rattler'd. It needs some more run time to get fully broken in. It only has about 4 tank's through it.

That'd make a nice tabletop!!! I haven't done a dam thing to my 288 and it runs just fine. Its my go to 24" saw.

I just picked this one up a few weeks ago. It's bone stock and it's no beauty queen just a solid runner. Had it out on Saturday and ran a full tank thru it and with a 28" on her it felt real good. It's my second husky and I love it. Great power, decent weight, oils like a mofo and sounds awesome

I think 288's have one of the best sounds at idle. You can just tell from the spasmodic chuckle that there going to be mean full throttle.

The only weak 288 I ever saw was ran over by a skidder, rest seemed pretty strong though.

rebuilt last winter. stock am [raisman platt] top end. blows 190 w/gasket. one o my favs.
