Update....

The OEM muffler arrived today.

This will never do... sorry Tweety. This birdcage has to go.



I started by drilling the spot-welds. Two on the sides I drilled through the support only. For the six upper I drilled straight through the can.


Gave it a whack with the punch and out it came.

On to the other mods...

I enlarged the stock opening and added a screen.





I brazed the holes that I drilled earlier and added some support pieces and brazed those on also.



And, one is never enough so I added a Red97 deflector and an opening to the fly side. Screened it in for safety and stuff.

And, drumroll...

She lives...

I threw a 20" es on it just to run it before dark.





Oils really well...




The winter mesh is doing it's job. I don't see any fines after cutting sone old dry wood.

Still got some work to do on the brake (notice the zip tie).

Very impressed so far. The WJ-135 was purring like a kitten when it started.

I sheared a flywheel key on the third pull trying to get the beast started. It's got some compression.
