If that happened I would probably use some mild thread lock on the nut. Weird....
It was very weird, hadn't even cut with it yet today, happened on cold start. Ran for about 15 seconds then weird noises and stalled.

Pawn shop deals don't know the history of the 2 20170821_191952.jpg 20170821_191859.jpg 20170821_192146.jpg 20170821_192151.jpg 20170820_172643.jpg but any input on these non decomp cylinders.
The 87 has a recessed ring on the bottom and the 89 has the number 1 stamped on top never saw that before.

Welcome to the 288 thread, Them some nice looking 288's ya got there.
The finished one is mine i ran it before my brother did in 2000 lol
The other 2 my friends brought me a pile from a pawn shop.
One had never been apart but someone took the handle off?
The other is missing a chunk at the top of the case but it's fine.
Bearings are tight.
The only thing i can't find is air deflectors for the recoil.
Anyone know of a seller.

You talking about the plastic flywheel shroud that goes on before the recoil housing?

I like them both. The low top filter was a huge fail that's why I switched to the hightop.
We just have little tree's here lol
Never had a problem my lite went to 130psi so i refreshed it after 17 year's piston was fine clean inside bearings still tight.
It might be a different story now i'm cutting dead ash mostly filthy dusty crap residue from them.
Different species different problems.
