395 is nothing but a loop with a leg going down the 390 version is more like a 372 type looks like a regular handle with the right side wrap added to it.

Yup, a 394 is like a 1/2 sibling to the 288.

The GOOD: Extremely low hour that seems to have spent the last 2 decades of its life on a shelf in a barn, high top w/ K&N, pressure and vacuum 100%, 2x rubber front AV and 4x spring AV in rear all in good condition. No chain rash, plastics intact, almost no wear on clutch, and the sprocket looks like it was barely used.

The BAD: Low 150psi, random bolt shoved in muffler flange that needs to be retapped and proper 'sert placed in there, wire insulation deteriorated to the point it is just falling off need to replace red/blue wires, PO used waste motor oil so the tank needs to be cleaned and the whole saw smells like burnt clutch friction material, missing muffler gasket, and scored piston. Cylinder is AOK and will be ported for extra giggles.

Meteor works great in those saws.

That's always a backup plan. The saws I have had or have used with Meteor pistons all have done very well. Luckily I have an OEM on the way and it didn't break the bank.

That shows it nearly perfect @00wyk .

The 390/385 wrap reminds me of the 372 wrap where it looks like they put two bends in a second piece of tube and welded it to the half wrap handle.

394/5 wrap has a 4 bend straight hoop with the rear mount just welded about 2/3 of the way across the top of the hoop.

Very nice.

Broke the recoil spool on my 288 at the CT GTG, ordered a couple today. While I’m working on it I need to advance the timing, keep forgetting about it.
