Engage banter mode....But the banter is ON! And who cares what the controls are? The user just cares if the collection of parts in their hands work...or not. If that thing has a primer ..it starts faster and if not it doesn't....that's the point right? A better collection of parts works better? The Saw's all include the controls & tools to get them started and the ones BETTER at starting might have a variety on things including a primer..
There are always those baby milk bottles of yore.. BUT bottom line is it started...The man is correct about the purge/primer bulbs.
Started a little Poulan this evening that has sat for three years. [emoji108]
I’d still be dribble feeding one without to get it to draw fuel.

What's this, evasive maneuvers? LOL
My point is this: The primer is part of the story, and should be included in the discussion, not left unmentioned, that's all.
Remember also that there are plenty of non AT saws with primers, but only 1 AT saw that does not have a primer. (576AT) So AT vs non AT may indeed tell one story. But primers significantly change the parameters, and tell yet another story. So, you have two intersecting sets of "empirical data" that require further analyzation.
You guys oughtta get married...
