Can any one tell me if a regular old 660 crankshaft will interchange with a 661-c i have one I tore apart. PC looks great it after getting the jug off i found the lower rod bearing is burnt blue and cumming apart. I was also wondering if any one has adapted a carb to this model saw yet thank you.

A friend and I were chatting about this very crank swap in reverse order and I believe he said the 661 crank was wider...or vice versa I'll have to check.

No, they don`t interchange, the part numbers and stroke are different.

Damn that's a bummer, I feel for you! I'm betting a new one is going to be ridiculous :(

Wow, not sure how I forgot to mention the 661 stroke is 38mm and 660 is 40mm. My buddy and I were talking about some custom stuff.

I'd love to know why they shortened the stroke!

My buddy almost did it yesterday lol, pancaked his 661. But he got lucky and it's not a total loss, smoked his new 36" bar though too.
