I prefer one saw with a 28” or 34” lightweight to be the only one I take with me if I’ve got the tractor. There’s just nowhere to put a second saw normally and I can get a pinched saw out pretty easy with the loader. I don’t like running a 90 cc with those bars for hours on end but a good 70cc I’m fine with. A lot of the time the 562 gets the nod if it’s smaller stuff over the 346 or 660.

My biggest piece of equipment is my ATV, and I generally take two saws siamesed on the front deck I built. My property has been logged, so virtually no chance of a tree much over 20", so this setup works for me.

My grandpas farm was logged around 1920. There’s some giant fence row and oaks left in the 4-8’ range left on it. A lot of 30-50” stuff and some has been falling from oak wilt. But I can’t get a truck to it or drive 2 vehicles to get there with the tractor and side by side.

The 572 does remarkably well with a 32” with 7 pin skip or semi skip chain if you let it work at its own pace. It doesn’t like full comp on that size bar in hardwood. The oiler isn’t a problem either, I think I had it set at 3/4, all the way out runs out the oil before gas. This is just a broken in stock 572 with a opened up muffler. I imagine ported it would run full comp 32”. I like my 64/73/7900’s but this new robo saw ain’t bad...

I have semi skip and skip for that 34” that are pretty good on a 460 or 372. I never made them too aggressive

Won't know until the new price list is posted in Feb. Don't expect it to be a big deal; something like $5-$10 maybe? It's usually done on a percentage basis.

Bob, you gonna make CT GTG this year?

I’ve got a meatball with your name on it (if the Barrett boys don’t eat it first).

Ya know, those guys are bigger than me, and there's two of them. I'll be at the sausage and peppers tray anyway.. :)

Would REALLY like to attend, as that was such a great GTG 2 years ago. Did Dan pick a date yet? The April date worked way better than the May date.

If I hear there's a tree down on the property somewhere, I grab an 044 with a 24 inch bar, my chainsaw tool box, and a tractor.

Ran my new to me 362C today with a 24. Unimpressed with the oil pump. It's getting an oil pump upgrade, muffler mod and maybe timing bump. My 361mm, 360, 036pro, 036 will all spank it. The 362 with a mm, base gasket delete and timing bump will stop them all as it should. Will the Mtron 362c ever catch them....maybe. It will never catch this 361 coming up ;)

Got another 6401. They always do very well against anything around 65cc.

Nope, life is to short to have to use a front tensioner, but everyone should do it at least once :p.

Most that grew up with a saw in their hands feel nothing out of the ordinary with a front tensioner honestly, unless they just got into chainsaws in the last 15-20 years ago or so and have no idea what loud sounds like or vibes feel like to heat the home or put food on the table. The wife and kids have liked heat and food much longer than what the side tensioner has been around...just saying.

My 044 had a side tensioner in 12/92. Would not want a front tensioner saw.

The 362 C will get stronger over about the next 10 tanks.

Did it take you three weeks to come up with that response o_O. Hope all is well down there.

Maybe you better go get you a front tensioner saw("honestly"), but then again that kinda defeats the whole purpose of starting this thread doesn't it.

Did you buy a new saw yet, I got mine and I'm enjoying them, at least when I get a chance to run them.

No I haven't read this complete thread yet...just here and there. I have alot of front tensioner saws and have been running the heck out of them, just contemplating a new saw.
