As many of you all are well aware, the 4th annual MMWS GTG and pig roast is coming up fast. OK......so I ain't gonna roast a pig (or rent one out) this year......I'm gonna smoke some butt roasts again. At any rate, I'd rather not pass a hat......or ask for donations at the GTG. If possible I'd prefer to get the funding part over with before the GTG begins so that all we gotta do is race saws, shoot the chit, and eat pork.
We're gonna have 8 x 8 and 10 x 10 poplar cants for the cubic inch classes, and we'll need 4 12 x 12 in poplar (if possible) for the build off saws. Then there's the over large stuff I ask all the local sawmills about......and the "normal" sized stuff for the general cutting up. Then there's the *s-wordter rental......it all adds up fast.
Every year the folks that attend do a fantastic job of funding this event. Last year some members gave up saws for prizes to help raise the needed funds. That really worked out well, and was pretty fun too !!!!
So this year I have a pretty nice Makita 6401 that has a few mods done to it......I thought it might be fun to throw in the ring since that's the build off saw this year.
Edit:
Our friend Tim has added a nice cruiser axe to the list of prizes. Picture below...
And.......Mark has added a unmolested vintage Boy Scout hatchet w sheath.
Sausage Fingers has donated (4) slightly used 3/8 .050 72dl square ground work chains.
AJ has donated a 3.5 lb German style axe.
I'll get a GFM set up for this gig.....ya'll know how it works.
Donate Here !!!!!
