I thought they just filed back more on the RS ?
Do the trailing edges of RS and RSL teeth look the same ?
I thought i was seeing things ,but on my stihl chain ,the witness marks are flat on the square chain ,and the kerf looks a little wider ,on the round the side marks are round ,and the cutters do not seem as tall or wide ,i will have to measure when i get time ,

I have noticed the witness marks, but never measured the two with .404

If anyone is willing to sharpen some of my 404 square ground I'll make it worth there while. I run square and round ground and would like to keep a few as square ground instead of round filing them. Just putting that out there. Love the 404!

If youre looking for your work chains to be sharpened for regular use, Jasha (@Tree Sling'r) is fast and offers a great square ground sharpening at very smart prices.

I was just going over this in my head the other day. every time i cut wood on my processor it amazes me at just how long 404 stays sharp and it gets me thinking i want to set up my 7910 with 404.
As long as the saw will pull it no reason not too ,a stock 70cc may be a little slower than 3/8 but a hopped up one should pull it nice .

I use .404 semi chisel on my 660 for cutting up dirty wood and dead falls that I want to clean up. The 660 is re-jetted and has a dual port muffler. The 660 with A Cannon super bar plus 28 inch seems like the perfect combo.

My 3120 with a 36" in 404 is a beast love it I'm going to change my sprocket on my 395 to 404 put the 36" on her and get a 42 for the 3120. 404 it don't play it rips chunks baby and that's what makes me smile.
