395xp top cover thread repair

Do you by any chance know if that link you posted is the same size screws for a husky 288 top cover? I have three egg shaped holes in mine. Bought new screws but that’s as far as I’ve gotten

There is not much room for an insert on a 288, the top cover flange area is wide but it's scalloped down underneath it to where there is hardly enough material to hold a M5 heli-coil.

Heli-coil first, if that fails it's probably time to break out the tig welder.

These inserts will work with a steady drill and tap on a 288
