My 394 is on my mill and with the chain adjuster on the front of the saw its impossible to adjust without unbolting the mill from the bar. What are the options for a side adjuster, any? Does the 395 cover have the adjuster in it that I could swap on?

Drill a hole in the mill or use a 90 degree screw driver
I was hoping that wasn't the only two options. Oh well. It's not like I have to adjust the tension between sharpening so it's not that bad.

I think a 3120 cover would fit and it has the tensioner in the cover I believe. I'm pretty sure one would fit a 394 as I've
seen guys running them on 288s with a little grinding. I think I have a used one I could send your way if you want to
check it out.

I'm thinking he is actually looking for a side access tensioner (372 style). The 3120 is still out the front

Yeah but the adjuster in the 3120 on the same side as the bar nuts, making access much easier.

The only side-adjust option I can think of would be a heavily modified 372 cover.

I looked into putting a 372 style adjuster in a 395 cover... I was going to have to add a lot of material and do a lot of machining.

The 3120 style would be easier to machine in.

Even the old Pioneer P60's had the adjuster in the cover!

I’m not up on my huskys to well but could a clutch cover off a 455/460 maybe work? I know they have side adjust chain tensioners

Keep your eye out for a Jonsered 2095 Clutch cover: they are rare but it’s
1. that,
2. something custom,or
3. live with what you’ve got.

Maybe the 395 replacement will have what we want.
