385xp tank vent

Hey everyone, I’ve tried searching on here with no luck so I figured I would ask. I have a 04 385xp and am replacing the tank vent. Problem is the new vent does not stay seated if that makes sense. Am I missing anything???

Tank vent goes in fine, but you can pull it out...feels like it should be in there better??

Put a little yamabond, threebond 1184 or similar on it and install. Let it set up overnight and you should be good to go. Don't use RTV, fuel will break it down.

Yes, I used 3 bond generously on the end of the white vent tube. It worked. Clean the surface like previously mentioned. I’m not sure but I think you could also fit the older style vent in the IPL with the white puck that fits on the end. They work better imho. I was just too cheap to waste my $ buying another vent and decided to make the newer one work.
